I’m Charlie, and 15 years ago I was an 18-year-old with low confidence, often tongue-tied in social situations and worried I came across as boring. To break out of my shell, I decided to learn a party trick — something I could pull out if the conversation went flat. I chose impressions.

After a year of practice, something amazing happened: just knowing I had that skill gave me the confidence to relax and be myself. Before long, I didn’t even need to use the impressions in social settings — the confidence boost had already done its job.

What started as a way to survive awkward parties grew into a career. Impressions have taken me around the world, onto Netflix, Amazon, and even Beetlejuice 2, while also helping me build a YouTube community of over 980,000 subscribers.

Alongside performing, I’ve taught (I was a maths teacher for two years), so I know how vital clear, practical steps are when tackling something that feels daunting. Impressions can seem mysterious at first, but with the right framework they become a fun, rewarding skill anyone can learn.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve gone from nervous amateur to seasoned professional, developing a method that breaks impressions down into simple, repeatable steps.
